I have always had a strange love of crime drams, particularly government/military based. I started out with JAG and then fell in love with NCIS when JAG went off the air. It's the one show that I have consistently enjoyed watching that is still on television, although I have gone through periods of randomly liking other shows. The Office is high up on the list as well, but I wasn't a huge fan of last season except for Pam and Jim's wedding and their baby, and I haven't seen an episode this season. Other shows I currently watch (although not consistently): Criminal Minds - I love the psychological aspect of this, I find myself diagnosing the characters, Without A Trace, and Cold Case.
I cannot explain why I like NCIS, I have no connections to the military. I think it has to do with the characters and how the episodes are directed. The story lines are not over-the-top ridiculous and usually the conflict is solved in one episode, i.e. I'm not left hanging for weeks.
