I have always loved to read, so there are many books on my shelf that I love (why would I purchase and keep a book I didn't love?) But there is only one book, other than the Bible, that I would read again and again. Anne of Green Gables is the first book I can remember reading when I was younger, and I just reread it this past summer on vacation. I love L. M. Montgomery's writing style; the details and descriptions are beautiful! I've never gotten around to watching any of the movies based on the books because I was afraid it would ruin it for me (kind of like what Prince Caspian did to the book and my whole image of Prince Caspian). I was surprised when I reread it that I had missed the part about her loosing her first baby. I hadn't picked up on this when I was younger and I was so saddened by it. Her whole character has been brought to life for me, and I realize now that there are three more books after the last one I read (Anne's House of Dreams) so the story can continue for me!

This is my very favorite book too. Which ones haven't you read? The movies are also REALLY good! I love watching them, and they really are true to the books (although Avonlea combines some of the events from 2nd, 3rd and 4th books). Out of all the places on my "to visit" list, PEI is No. 1 because of Anne of Green Gables. I would just love to go there and pretend that I am Anne and explore the island. I have an Anne treasury book my grandpa got me, with information about Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne's life, living in her time period, etc. It's super cool -- I should send it down with Holly sometime for you to look at.
I Love Anne of Green Gables! I've only ever read the first book (twice), but I love it! I love the movies too. I need to read the rest of the books in the series!
Meredyth: I've read up to Anne's House of Dreams, so I haven't read the last 3 books in the series. I have heard a lot of good things about the movie, so I need to put it on my Netflix and finally watch them!
Jessica: I love the books and I think you would like Anne's House of Dreams, it's my favorite. It's such a beautiful house she describes!
