We've been in the sunshine state for a little over a month, but I still feel very unsettled. Most of our stuff is still in boxes and the place still looks so unfinished (there is painters tape around all of the trim). I am slowly tackling some of the projects myself but that proves difficult with a toddler and it's difficult to do much while he naps because I don't want to worry about wet paint when he wakes up or make too much noise (i.e. unpacking all the boxes that are in the room next to his).
I've been babysitting in the mornings and most afternoons for my husbands boss' daughter. She's 18 months old, very cute, but wow it is tiring watching two so close in age. Also, if you will recall in a previous post, I'm really not a huge fan of babysitting. Her previous babysitter quit so I'm filling in until she finds a new sitter.
I have plans to find a play group of some kind or a mommy and me class (I found a yoga class but the description didn't sound like it would be a good class for me while pregnant). I also hope to find a story time at the library. We have a church we've been wanting to attend but it's 40 mins away and neither of us have been motivated to get out the door on time on Sundays. There are closer churches, so hopefully we can find something (I like the benefit of having a nursery at a larger church, but I probably shouldn't be picky).
Here are two pics I took today of W and the little girl I babysit.

Oh goodness, W looks way too big :( His hair is growing fast again! I'm sure you will start to feel settled once you have your whole days back and can do more!!
Where are you living now? You can search for a local MOPS group. They have seriously helped me settle into a new place and meet mommy friends quickly. go to www.mops.org
Aww, is that Auburn? It just clicked that you guys are probably there with Todd and Miranda because I knew they had recently moved to Florida too. Sounds like you re staying busy!
Good luck with your babysitting! I've only done a tiny bit myself (like, literally once), and it's not really up my alley either.
I hope you're able to get more settled soon! It is SO difficult to get anything done with a toddler. Like you said, you really can't tackle certain projects whether they're awake or not. The cleaning I can't do drives me crazy, so I imagine that the unfinished state of your house can get rather irritating! I really feel for you.
Best wishes finding a playgroup and a church! I'm sure that things like that will make you feel much more at home. :)
He looks like such a big boy :) i hope they find someone soon so you get a break!
